In 1981, Tim Bock entered the roofing industry as a small roofing contractor in Chicago and faced challenges due to a lack of support from local suppliers. Determined to provide better support for fellow contractors, he envisioned a company that would concentrate on serving the needs of small contractors and treating them as valuable customers.

On April 1st, 1985, Tim founded Lakefront Roofing & Siding Supply. Leveraging his experience in the roofing industry, he assembled a team of sales and support personnel who were also roofers and focused on offering a one-stop-shop for all a contractor's needs.

Lakefront's offerings include a custom sheet metal shop, seamless gutter trucks, on-site crane delivery, lumber, a propane filling station, James Hardie fiber cement siding, free contractor referral service, and a store stocked with manufacturer samples and literature.

In addition to these services, Lakefront hosts an annual Lakefront University event, providing education on the latest products and techniques to small and medium contractors. Lakefront also provides manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their products directly to customers at a free weekly lunch during the roofing season.

From 1994 to 2013, Lakefront founded and partnered with Narcom International. Narcom was a contractor training and distribution center in Constanta, Romania, promoting ethical business practices in the region. Narcom’s mission focus was supporting two orphanages for children with AIDS.

Tim Bock's guiding principle in business is "Unless the Lord Builds the House, they that labor do so in vain." (Psalm 127:1) This message is the company's motto, which is prominently displayed on all of Lakefront's trucks. At Lakefront, building relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers is the top priority.
